In an increasingly digital logistics world, it is of great importance that companies pursue a holistic digitization strategy in order to maintain their competitiveness. In order to achieve this goal, it is crucial to have access to experts who can support them in their plans and assist them in all matters relating to digitization. abacab has made it its business to be able to accompany logistics companies and transport networks holistically in their digital transformation. For this reason, the company is also expanding its range of services in the future.
Holistic view of digital transformation
Due to the increasing demand for holistic solutions for the digitalization of logistics processes, the strategic further development of abacab’s consulting and service portfolio was decided. In particular, the managing directors Christian and Jan Meyer recognize a gap in the market for the selection and implementation of transport management systems (TMS). Christian Meyer emphasizes: “Our daily business is to advise customers and offer them suitable solutions for their digitization strategy. With the further development of our business strategy, we are now taking the first step towards being able to support all digitalization projects of logistics companies in the future.” At the same time, the existing business areas for process optimization, digitization, data protection and information security will be further expanded.
“Solutions must fit the company”
The introduction of a new system often involves risks for logistics companies and is usually linked to the fear of introducing the wrong system. Christian Meyer reports from his consulting practice: “Digital solutions must fit the company. Even small changes have a strong impact on the process landscape and the employees’ accustomed ways of working. In addition, digital transformation often leads to organizational and cultural changes in the company.” With a holistic digitalization concept, abacab coaches, advises and supports logistics companies to drive their digital maturity process. The focus is on digital connectivity and the secure as well as fast exchange of data between logistics service providers and transport networks.
Management has repositioned itself
Already in May 2022, the company’s founder Uwe Meyer handed over the management to his sons Christian and Jan. He continues to assist the two managing directors in an advisory capacity, contributing his many years of experience in logistics and as managing director of national and international transport networks, as well as his excellent industry contacts. “As a family business, we remain true to our roots. Nevertheless, the change in management also opens up new opportunities that we would like to take advantage of. As a younger generation, we can score points in the area of digitalization and credibly drive our company forward,” reveals Jan Meyer. Although the restructuring is still in full swing, it has already proven its worth. Christian Meyer adds, “Now we need to sharpen our strategic focus and adapt to the new requirements that the market offers us.”
